ROTARY DISTRICT GOVERNOR
The Rotary Club of Pattaya, the “mother club” of 5 Rotary Clubs in Pattaya, had the official visit of this years Rotary District 3340 Governor, who came to give advice to the Pattaya Rotarians and listen to the plans and objectives of the club for this Rotary year, that goes from 1. July to 30. June. This year Khun Surapol Thaveesanbgskulthai holds the position as Rotary District 3340 Governor, he is from Khon Kaen in the Norteast of Thailand and has been a member since 1980. In his speech he told the Rotarians that a member of Rotary do not need to be a rich person, not a poor person either but most important a person who is “rich in his heart” and really care about other people. The world president of Rotary changes every year, and this year it is Barry Rassin from The Bahamas, his theme for this year is “Be the Inspiration” and Governor Surapol is his representative in district 3340, one of 4 districts in Thailand. R.I President Rassin has stated: “Those who know what good Rotary Clubs do, will want to be a part of it, and with Rotary more in the public eye, we will attract more (quality) individuals who want to be a part of and support an organization that accomplishes so much good around the world.”
