In our series of travel stories “Exploring Thailand” for Pattaya People News Magazine, We visited THE YUSUKSUWAN MUSEUM in Pratinburi. It is a private collection of items from a time long gone by the owner of the museum Khun Narong Yusuksuwan. Among the very diverse collection there are more than 13,000 petroleum lamps. Take a look at the photos to explore the collection. The museum is located 6 km. from Pratinburi City in a lush green garden. Many kinds of beautiful birds and animals can be seen in the garden surrounding the museum that is comprised of five buildings. In the buildings you will find ancient silverware, brassware, pottery, irons, kerosene refrigerators, kerosene fans, pressure lamps, ship lamps, lamps for slide projectors, ancient crockery, ceramic trays, pots, lemonade bottles, betel trays, bronze bowls, kerosene stoves, oil lamps, bicycles, motorcycles, old style children’s toys, Buddha images, scales, pictures of Pratinburi in the old days, old newspapers, cartoons, stamps, books, lottery tickets, many kinds of boats, a bamboo house and Thai tools for living in the old days are displayed here too.
