RAMAYANA WATER PARK PATTAYA CELEBRATES ACHIEVING SECOND SPOT IN ASIA AND TWELFTH IN THE WORLD
Ramayana Water Park Pattaya, the top water park in Thailand, organized an event to celebrate its success of becoming the second best water park in Asia and the twelfth in the world. The company unveiled a new investment plan to promote the growth of tourism in Thailand and completely support the government’s tourism promotion policy.
Thailand’s Vice Minister of Tourism H.E. Ittipol Khunpluem graced the event as its chief guest to commemorate Ramayana Water Park to be voted as the biggest amusement park in Thailand along with rising to the second spot in Asia and the twelfth globally, according to the latest ranking released by TripAdvisor.
“The Tourism Authority of Thailand expects that in 2018 Chon Buri will see an increase of 5 per cent in the number of tourists compared to 2017 and that amounts to 17.5 million people,” he said, adding that tourism helps generate as much as Bt240 billion for the province annually. While 60 per cent of tourists visiting Chon Buri are foreigners, 40 per cent are Thais, with Pattaya, Bangsaen and Sattaheep being the major tourist destinations.
“For the tourism in Pattaya today we concentrate on presenting a family destination and sports tourism theme, which is a new image for the city compared to the entertainment image in the past,” he said. “In addition, the TAT have also discussed with every sector in order to find additional ways to help strengthen the tourism industry of the Eastern region. The Ramaya Water Park is another important tourist attraction that will bring in both foreign and local tourists to Chon Buri.”
Mr. Ittipol noted that there are many factors that could help boost the tourism and general economy of the Eastern region.
“For example the government has initiated the Thailand 4.0 strategy in the development of the country and that also includes the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) policy that is aimed at developing future industries in the three-province area consisting of Chachoengsao, Chon Buri and Rayong,” he said.
Mr. Ittipol said Chon Buri has developed basic utilities in preparation for systematic tourism growth. “This includes the renovation of the U-Tapao International airport, turning it into a commercial airport. Today a large number of airlines are offering regular flights and chartered flights to U-Tapao from both domestic and international destinations including Chiang Mai, Udon Thani, Phuket, Hat Yai, Nan Ning Nan Chang, Hong Kong, Singapore and Russia.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Stan Badekha SEO of Ramayana Water Park, said, “The Ramayana Water Park was opened in 2016 with an investment of Bt1.5 billion on a 106-rai area surrounded by the beautiful nature of Khao Chee Chan and Silver Lake Winery. We are able to serve 7,500 tourists per day and this year we have been selected by TripAdvisor as the largest and best water park in Thailand, the No.2 in Asia and the No.12 in the world.
“This is our third year in operation and this year we have achieved a clear direction for both the domestic and overseas markets,” he said. “We are trying to grow our overseas marketing base covering South East Asian nations as well as China and India. We plan to increase the frequency of our overseas roadshows such as by joining hands with the TAT and other allies. At the same time we will also have more marketing offense plans for Thailand as well.”
