A good turnout for today’s playing for The Inaugural Take it Easy Monthly Mug!
Twenty golfers had put their names down to have a crack at this month’s mug. One bus and a handful of cars headed out to sort out what was to be a good game of golf. Numbers are getting better and with our new sponsor on board things are looking up.
Attacking from the Yellow tees (Stroke Event) we played courses C & B in that order. Course (from all reports) was in great nick and very typical of Crystal Bay. Fairways were in great shape and the greens played true all day, It’s obvious that the rains that we have had have fallen in the right spots as this course, as like many in our area, was in good shape. Or is it because usage of courses is down?
With twenty starters we had the opportunity to play two flights, this is what we like it gives everybody a chance to climb the podium!
A Flight saw Jayson Schembri take out first place by the barest of margins, his 65 nett put him one solitary stroke in front of his nearest rival Denis Steele. There was a little bit of daylight till we got to our third placed golfer on the podium Mark Stapleton.
B Flight saw Jerry Dobbs (66 nett) take out first place again by the skinniest of margins, he finished only one stroke in front of second place getter Shane Young. Third by a neck was Andrew (Turtle) Allen.

After 18 holes of pain and suffering we sat down to a grouse serving of Curry Chicken served up by the girls!
We then welcomed back Dave Fletcher and Peter Bye, we then said goodbye to the same two guys returning to work. Travel safe guys and we hope to catch up again real soon!
