NO SMOKING DAY
Ever since 1988 the WHO or World Health Organization have marked the 31.; may as the “World No Tobacco Day”, or “No Smoking Day”. The Baan Nernplabwan School organized a special function on that day to make the students focus on the danger connected with smoking tobacco. A stage play was performed by the students of the school in front of the many invited dignitaries. Even though cigarettes are sold legally they never the less are the cause of lung cancer and cancer in other parts of the body, heart disease, arteries and respiratory diseases. In Thailand approximately 52,000 people die every year from tobacco smoking related diseases. After the function at the school the students walked out in the streets of Nongprue district in a parade to create awareness of the health dangers related to tobacco smoking and to distribute brochures with information about the subject.
