“ROYAL CUP 2018”, ready to be held during 26-29 July at Phoenix Gold Golf & Country Club in Pattaya 

Pattaya – Chonburi, 17 July 2018 : Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) and National Sports Development Fund (NSDF), together with Asian Tour, Phoenix Gold Golf & Country Club and the promoter – Wangson Image Co.,Ltd. and Khon Rak Golf Co.,Ltd. has announced the Royal Cup 2018 which will be held during 26-29 July 2018 at Phoenix Gold Golf & Country Club, Pattaya in Chonburi with 500,000USD purse money (appx. 16.5 million baht) and total filed of 156 players; consists of 75 Asian Tour players, 40 Thai players, 10 PGA of Australasia players, 5 Japan Golf Tour players, 16 invites spot, and including 10 players form Monday Qualifier which will be held on Monday, 23 July.

Sports Authority of Thailand together with National Sports Development Fund stated by Mr. Prarat Suwannamaytakorn – Director of Professional Sports Promotion and Development Division about the support of SAT for the tournament: “SAT and NSDF offers our support to all kind of sport development, and golf is one of that. Royal Cup 2018 is also in our support plan and aim to improve the organizing of golf tournament in Thailand and to create an international stage for Thai players to develop their game, including making Thailand as the sport hub of Asia.”

Mr. Chaicharn Aeimjaroen – Chonburi’s Vice Governor mentioned the potential of Chonburi Province in sport organizing that: “Chonburi has full potential to host the international sport event as its various facilities. We hope that Royal Cup 2018 will be one of the golf tournament that gain the utmost success and will be another proud of Chonburi.”

Pol.Lt.Gen. Pinit Maneenut – Spokesman of Pattaya City added: “Pattaya City is pleased to welcome all golfers and officials who will participate the remarkable tournament in next week in Pattaya. We hope that our city’s facilities will serve the best to all of you. And our potential to hold such international sport event will be shown.”

Phoenix Gold Golf & Country Club is the venue to host this international golf tournament with 6,716 yards – par 70. Mrs. Chanya Swangchitr – President of Phoenix Gold Golf & Country Club expressed: “We are very pleased to host the international tournament at our golf club again and also welcome all players from Asia and Australia. And for this time, our Lake course and Mountain course are set up to challenge those players.”

Asian Tour – the sanctioning body of Royal Cup 2018, represented by Mr. Wanchai Meechai – Chief Operating Officer stated: “Asian Tour aims to create the international golf tournament to encourage all players in Asia to show their performance. Royal Cup in Thailand is also one of our stage and we wish that this honourable tournament will be added in every season of our tour schedule, in order to raise up and develop the golf in Asia.”

LIVE TV Broadcasting will be on True Sport HD 3 on True Visions during 13:00-16:00hrs on Saturday, 28 and Sunday, 29 July. Admission ticket for spectator is available at Ticket Booth near public entrance at the golf club at 100THB/person/day on 26-29 July. Free admission for spectator age under 18 and over 60 years old. Gate opening time is at 08:00hrs daily.
