IMMIGRATION WARNING
Hotels, Apartment building, Home rental entrepreneurs and private people that rent our accommodation to foreigners had been warned by the Chonburi Immigration Office in Soi 5 off Jomtrien Beach Road, that they must report within 24 hours if any foreigners have rented any rooms or other accommodation at their properties. The Immigration explained to our reporter that according to the Immigration Act of 1979 section 38 failing to make this reporting on time the host will have to pay a fine not exceeding 10,000 baht and in case in case the foreigners move out they must report this within 48 hours as stipulated in the Immigration Act section 37. Immigration further informed that overstay of visas has declined, but they will monitor the reporting by property owners and arrest the ones that don’t take the regulations seriously.
