PATTAYA UTD. – FAN OF THE MONTH
Bernd Zimmerman, originally from Stuttgard in Germany is our ‘fan of the month’. Not only does he attend every Pattaya Utd. fixture, home and away, but has got to know the players personally and has a deep affection for the club. Here he is pictured brandishing his trademark yellow and red cards which get shown to the referee during each match when he feels one should be shown to an opposing player. His humour during each game is a delight for the fans that sit near him and his passion for the game, infectious. He is well known for standing up and shouting ‘Hollywood’ whenever a player tries to play up or overact to a foul. Bernd, we salute you.
Results in April were mixed for the club with two away defeats to Changrai Utd. And Nakhon Rachasima, one home win against Chonburi with only the one goal from Chayawat Srinawong in the second minute, and a 3-3 draw at home to Ubon UMT FC.
This recent Ubon game at the Dolphins stadium should have been wrapped up in the first half but Pattaya only managed one first half goal against a club at the bottom of the Thai Premier league. The second half saw the scoreline swaying one way and then another with the away team at one point winning 3-2. The final 3-3 result only gave Pattaya Utd one point rather than the expected three and the team’s seemingly lack of enthusiasm to feed the ball to star striker Lukian was the main reason the club has dropped to just below mid table.
Coming up on May 20th, Pattaya Utd will be hosting the top team in the Thai Premier League, champions Buriram Utd. A big crowd is expected for this so get your tickets as early as possible.
