Officials plan international maritime parade
At 2.00pm on the 20th of July, at the Thapphraya Conference room of Pattaya City Hall, a cabinet of senior government and naval officials met to discuss plans to commemorate the upcoming 50th anniversary of the ASEAN community.
Important officials in attendance included the Deputy Governor of Chonburi, Naval Operations Officers, members of Pattaya City Council and the Deputy Mayor of Pattaya.
During the meeting, the cabinet approved a motion for the Royal Thai Navy to host an international maritime parade later in 2017. Representatives from more than 50 countries will be invited to attend the international event, which will see marine activities, held in the Gulf of Thailand, conducted by the Navy, while land activities will be coordinated by local government agencies and private sector individuals.
It is hoped that the efficient coordination and hosting of this auspicious event will help promote Thailand’s ingenuity and tourism sector.
