Driver crashes after being exhausted
On the morning of the 27th of May, Huay Yai Police were called out to Route 331, between Sattahip and Korat, after receiving reports of a serious road accident.
At the scene, the emergency services found an overturned pickup truck in a bushy area next to the road, the cab of the truck was completely wrecked and both the driver and the passenger had been thrown from the vehicle.
The female passenger, identified as Miss Ampaporn Boodkiaw, aged 36, was found with bruises and scratches to her body. She was in shaken state but conscious.
Unfortunately, the driver identified as Mr. Nattawekarn Pimvanna, aged 32, suffered a broken neck in the crash and died instantly.
Miss Ampaporn told the emergency services that they had left Chachoengsao Province in the middle of the night to deliver fresh pork to their clients in the Eastern region. They had completed their delivery and were returning home at the time of the accident. Mr. Nattawekarn had seemed exhausted but had chosen not to stop for a rest as he feared parking next to the dark road. He had later lost control of the vehicle causing the crash and ending his life.
