Floral Displays for King Rama 9
Recently, in the lecture room of the Banglamung District Office a meeting was held by District Chief Mr. Naris Nilamaiwong Banglamung, to discuss a ceremony paying homage to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
A royal ceremony will be held in the late King’s honor on the 26th October to pay respects and show loyalty to King Rama 9. The Banglamung district has designated the Wat Chaimongkol temples (a Royal Monastery) as ceremonial place.
The Ministry of Interior has scheduled a royal funeral lasting 5 days between October 25-29, during which, each district will arrange a flower presentation ceremony where each flower given represents that district.
Volunteers and particularly students are invited to come together to create the flower arrangement so that the gift has the right color, form and size.
Those who are interested in participating are asked to grow marigolds or other yellow flowers to honor the birth color of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. People are advised that marigolds will take 60 days to bloom and must be ready by the 20th of October.
The agricultural department of Banglamung district are currently preparing 30 kgs of sunflower seeds as well as 5,000 marigold seeds which will be distributed to members of the public.
