Police to investigate misconduct following petition
At 2:30 pm on the 28th of April, the Sister Pattaya Foundation, an organization established to protect the human rights of Pattaya’s Transgender community, led by it’s director Mr. Thitiyanant Nakpor met with Pattaya police deputy superintendent Pol. Lt. Col. Omsin Sukkarnka to submit a petition to request justice for a ladyboy, Mr. Supichayanant Planisong who was allegedly assaulted by a group of police volunteers.
The incident took place on the 21st of April, when Mr. Supichayanant, aged 26, was insulted for being a prostitute by a group of police volunteers whilst leaving a restaurant with friends and then injured in the resulting altercation.
The foundations director, Mr. Thitiyanant presented the police with a report and photos of the injuries sustained by Mr. Supichayanant and criticized the police conduct and their use of excessive force during the incident.
Pol. Lt. Col. Omsin Sukkarnka accepted the petition and gave his word that the police will investigate this issue further.
