Bag snatching expected to increase before Songkran

At 5.30am on the 1st of April, Pattaya Police were called out to investigate a bag snatching that had occurred in front of the At Mind Hotel, where a couple were still in shock from the incident.
The victim at the scene, Miss Sujitra Saelao, aged 26, reported being stood at the side of the road with her foreign boyfriend, when a motorcycle, driven by a man with a female passenger, drove very close to the couple, causing the boyfriend to drop his phone. As Miss Saelao attempted to pick up the phone, the female passenger on the motorcycle snatched her handbag from her boyfriend’s shoulder, before fleeing the scene.
The victims were unable to provide the police with an adequate description of the assailants, preventing further police enquiries.
It is advised that everyone should take extra care to stay safe during this year’s Songkran celebration.
