Special Operations Police Department tackle illegal internet gun trading
10th March, Pol. Commander of Department of Patrol & Special Operations Pol. Maj. Gen. Surachaid Hakpan publicized the success of a special operation called “Guns Regained from Criminals Gangs” which has been operating for 4 months to track down all internet gun purchasing businesses which on day 25, targeted areas in and around Pattaya searching and locating 13 guns, over 300 bullets and the highly illegal drug Crystal Meth (Ice), all illegal firearms and drugs were impounded and will be used as evidence at a later date.
The operation was undertaken in co-operation with Chonburi Tourist Police 4 led by Superintendent: Pol. Maj. Piyaponh Ensarn and his team including additional military personnel.
Internet and Facebook Gun Trading using the services of Thai Post-office Co. Ltd, have been traced for some time with over 500 guns and over 30,000 bullets and accessories impounded over the past 4 months after the buyers used those guns to commit robberies and other crimes against innocent people. Pattaya City, Phuket and Chiang Mai have been the main provinces target by these special police operations.
