EMPOWERING INMATES
The well known massage school “Saithong Health Massage Center” and its owner Khun Pattamoporn “Pat” Mc Ghie organized a massage training seminar for the inmates in the Ningpalai Prison just outside Pattaya from 4 to 18 February in cooperation with the Prison Warden Khun Wattarawit Wachiraloepan. The 150 hours massage seminar was for 24 women and 2 ladyboys. After the training a skills test took place and certifates was presented to the students. The objective of this free seminar was to teach the inmates a skill so they would be able to get a job once leaving prison and going back into society. Another training seminar was organized for male inmates to teach them skill they could use to get a job in the construction industry. 25 males participated from 11 to 24 February in this seminar.
A big thank you goes to Khun Pat and her team for their community spirit in helping people who have been unfortunate in getting on the wrong side of the law, but would now like to become good citizens again.
