FORIEIGN POLICE VOLUNTEERS PARTY

FORIEIGN POLICE VOLUNTEERS PARTY
A big thank you party for the dedicated work and assistance to tourists in Pattaya by the Foreign Police Assistants, was held at ‘The Roof’ which is located as part of ‘The Avenue’ complex in 2nd Road.
Operations director, Tom Coulter, together with a handful of City Hall V.I.P.s, presented certificates of attendance with some going to those who had served over 5 years and 10 years accordingly. It was recognition of the sefless work done by these guys to help in the smooth running of such a large tourist community city.
The FPV’s role is to assist the Royal Thai Police, acting as a bridge between different language, laws and customs that may apply.
The Foreign Police Volunteers service was established in 2003 by the then Police Commissioner for the Chonburi Region via a request for suitable foreigners to assist in dealing with foreign residents or visitors.
From just a handful of volunteers, the project has grown to a team of around 75 uniformed volunteer officers. Now at most Pattaya area main police stations you will find a help desk manned by FPV who offer advice or assistance to foreigners in their dealing with a police matter or problem.
The FPV are always interested in persons willing to assist in their varied project duties. It is a great opportunity to learn about Thailand, its culture, its language and as well as have a rewarding – if sometimes challenging – way to truly help people.
if you are aged 20-60, hold a non-O visa (not tourist visa), can obtain a crime-free record from here and your own country, are a team player who likes challenges, then they would like to talk to you.
