CHINESE LOAN SHARKS

CHINESE LOAN SHARKS
Nine Chinese citizens was arrested for performing an illegal loan shark business in 3 houses in Pattaya, Nongprue and Banglamung areas. The gang had been operating this illegal business using the internet to communicate with customers in Hong Kong and other places. They had been charging 30% interest per month on the loans. A court order was obtained to raid the rented houses of the Chinese. Following items was confiscated during the raids: 15 computers, 38 mobile phones, documents detailing 250 Chinese customers, an automatic WI-FI transfer machine and lots of other documents. This case and raids was performed jointly between Chonburi Provincial Police, Pattaya Tourist Police, Crime Suppression Center of Pattaya, Nongprue Police, and Banglamung Police. The 9 arrested Chinese was charged with illegal loan business and working in Thailand without work permit.
