Local leaders informed of new anti-drug project
At 9 am on the 25th of May, at the Rueanthai Restaurant located on the 2nd Pattaya Road, opposite the Royal Garden Plaza, the Anti-Narcotics – Potential Developing and Community’s Strength Creation Project was officially opened by a City Hall Attorney Mr. Saitapol Boonsawat.
The project, which was established in accordance with the government’s 2013 policy, ‘Kingdom’s Power Creating Strategy’, aims to reduce the consumption and supply of illegal narcotics within 27 communities in Pattaya by educating local leaders in the methods to effectively protect against drugs in their communities.
The focus of the initiative is to safeguard against young people using drugs as this has a catastrophic effect on the local communities wellbeing.
It is hoped that by bringing different local leaders together, information, views and feedback can be shared to reduce narcotic consumption in all areas, which in turn with limit the numbers of drug addicts and increase the number of successful rehabilitations in the future.
