Day of Remembrance
Officials honor Naval elite
On the morning of the 19th of May,a remembrance ceremony was held at the Royal courtyard of Admiral King Borommon. HRH Crown Prince Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsakled the service which saw officials from the Royal Thai Navy, public authority officials and 10 monks from Wat Chaimongkol come together at Khao Phra Tamnak hill in South Pattaya.
The Navy has designated the 19th of May as a day of remembrance as it was on this day in 1923 that the Admiral Baroness died. HRH Crown Prince Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak affectionately known as the “Father of the Thai Navy” is also remembered on this day, as is the benevolence of the late king who developed the Naval Operations to be strong, stable and prosperous.
