18-wheeler crashes into 2 cars
At 7 am on the 16th of May, Banglamung police were called out to Rong Po Intersection on Sukhumvit Road, after a serious road accident involving an 18-wheel truck.
The huge vehicle collided with a white Honda Jazz which was severely damaged and the 4 people inside (including 3 children) were injured as the car was swung around violently.
Another car was also hit by the truck but sustained significantly less damage.
The rescuers at the scene managed to free the driver of the Honda Jazz, Miss Nootjira Purod, aged 30, and the 3 children aged between 10 and 11. All four were taken to Banglamung hospital to receive medical treatment.
The driver of the truck, Mr. Wanchai Teerawat, aged 35, told police that he had attempted to break for an upcoming orange light but he lost control of the vehicle on the slippery road before crashing into the 2 cars.
