Agricultural fair offers training to farmers
On the 16th of May, Banglamung Agricultural Office held the Field Day Fair at the Educational Promotion Centre in Pong sub-district, to help people working in the agricultural industry prepare for the upcoming planting season for 2017/2018.
The grand opening of the event was conducted by Chonburi deputy governor Mr. Chaichan Iamcharoen and the main objective was to educate farmers in techniques to help improve their yield. The emphasis was on using shared knowledge throughout the planning, preparation and harvesting stages, rather than expensive products in order to maximize efficiency and ultimately profitability.
The event was divided into 4 stations which offered demonstrations and practical advice on the following; home made fertilizer from animal waste, effective water management, hornet breeding and insect/pest management.
