Police raid construction site
Pattaya police led by Pol. Col. Apichai Krobpetch carried out a raid on a construction site in North Pattaya on the morning of the 3rd of May, after receiving information that suggested many of the workers there were illegal migrants.
The Banglamung district chief Mr. Naris Niramaiwong with assistance from his deputy Mr. Prapan Pratumchompu also took part in the raid with the aid of the Chonburi tourist police and the Safety Control Armed Forces led by Lt. Suwit Laklang.
The construction site is part of a mega project and over 200 workers were found to be without valid work permits and a further 100 workers were working in fields not included in their permits.
The foreman of the site as well as the contravening workers were told to report themselves to the police shortly after the raid so they could present their documents and face immigration proceedings if necessary.
