Pattaya officer stops mob beating tourist
Pattaya police deputy inspector Pol. Capt. Yongyut Wanneua bravely confronted a group of 6-7 Thai men who were attacking an Indian tourist.
The assault was taking place in front of Ananda Massage located on the 2nd Pattaya Road when the policeman managed to scare off the Thai men and even apprehend one of them.
The victim, Mr. Sarbjit Singh, aged 40, told police that the men had pretended to buy some beer before turning and attacking him. Luckily the officer stepped in before Mr. Singh was badly injured.
The man that was detained, identified as Mr. Wachira Rijireg, aged 21, told police that the beating was revenge for an altercation that had occurred between the group of attackers and the victims group on Songkran day. He was taken into police custody and now the officers are tracking down the other men.
