Chinese tourists mugged in Pattaya with more than 100,000 baht taken, police still unable to catch them.
6th March 2017 Mr. Yongyut Wanner (Deputy Police Inspector) received information from a Thai friend about a Chinese tourist, Mr Wang Ltngjun (Age 31) who had been mugged by someone on a small soi near Bangkok Bank.
After Mr Wang had been mugged, police tried to find evidence of the mugging and asked Mr Wang and his friend’s many questions.
The Chinese tourists had been in Pattaya for three days and intended to go back to China the following day. After enjoying their day in the town, the tourists walked back to their hotel when they were followed by a man on a motorbike who took their belongings from them, the police were called soon after, Patrol officers were ordered to find the muggers but were unable to do so.
Police let Mr Wang make a statement and a police report, officers will examine CCTV in the hopes of finding the muggers.
