Pattaya Highway Police accused of using fake ticket

Local people in Pattaya have complained to press that the Highway police are issuing photocopied tickets to people who break traffic laws. People were then sharing the photocopied tickets on social network which then went viral.

31st December 2016, press was informed that there was a check point on the Pattaya highway Sukhumvit road and officers had placed traffic cones blocking cars from taking a U-turn before reaching the checkpoint, this then drastically effected traffic in the city causing major congestion. Pol.Capt. Siroj Ruenruang (Highway Police Officer) who headed the check point stated, the check point was set due to the predicted 7 days of dangerous driving during the new year.
Photocopied tickets are not exactly the tickets that should be issued but were used to track people who break the law and to speed up the operational process.
